Who is the Acoustic Madman? Geoff Hewitt is a dynamic singer-songwriter from Western New York. So far, the region has given us the Goo Goo Dolls and Ani DiFranco. Hewitt could well be the region’s next major act. Geoff is a seasoned music veteran and has been performing professionally for more than a dozen years. Influenced by artists like The Beatles, Bob Dylan, the Eagles and Tom Petty, he creates a unique driving acoustic rock sound. In 1992 his second album Stellar Boulevard won critical acclaim in the Niagara Region. And 1998’s CD release Daytrips & Manuscripts has been earning regional and college radio play and many new fans Hewitt and Darrell Porter comprised the acoustic duo Blind Ambition. which in 1998 won the Buffalo Music Awards designation as Best Duo in the region. Apart from his work with Blind Ambition, Geoff has also received 5 Buffalo Music Award nominations. Since the late eighties, Hewitt has been entertaining at Western New York venues with an amazing array of cover tunes - and exciting original material. He performs on guitar, piano, and even harmonica. Through the years, Geoff's tour schedule has taken him to Key West, Canada, the Adirondacks, and even the United Kingdom. His unique brand of music, comedy, impressions, and improvisation has earned him the nickname, The Acoustic Madman. His repertoire of over 350 songs (covers and originals) is staggering, but Geoff makes it look easy. Hewitt’s performance is literate, memorable, exciting and just plain fun.
